The
Second Amendment [from Wikipedia] has been assaulted again. Rather heavily, In a
Fox News Story are chronicled the mancles placed on another Militia.
The second amendment isn't really all that ambiguous:
"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
Unfortuantely the Feds decided long ago to ignore that part of the constitution. It simply didn't fit in with the notion of controlling those who disagree with whichever group of Marxist's, Commies, Socialist's, Democrats or Republicans ( In Name Only) happen to be wielding power at the moment.
Sadly,
"The Free Militia" isn't free tonight. The victim of the most recent assault on the rights of Americans to disagree with their {elected?} Gov't.
Ben Franklin, Thomas Paine, Patrick Henry and the rest would be foaming at the mouth and loading their muskets. Well OK Ben Franklin would just be writing something and speaking.
But Patrick and Thomas would be HEAVILY involved in the doing.
You will remember it was Thomas Paine who wrote
Common Sense - The Pamphlet. Somehow that pamphlet still makes sense, when applied not to Britain but to the United States Federal Gov't.

- 8] The distance between the two nations makes the lag in communication time about a year for something to go round trip. If there was something wrong in the government, it would take a year before the colonies would hear back.
8A} The distance between the Federal Gov't and the people is so great it seems as if real communication never occurs! It would take, even in this age of instant messaging, email and (obviously) blogging, many, many moons for the Feds to wake up to what the Un-Silent majority are saying about the Federal Gov't!

10A} This one is too easy, I herein critisize the Federal Government for it's obnoxious behavior. We have replaced the "King" with a tower of beauracricies. Even more difficult to topple than an individual king.
No one can keep track of all the beaurcracies which exist in this country at so many levels it would take a Cray Super Computer just to posit how many we don't know about.
In the end, an armed man is a citizen. An unarmed man is a a subject.
I choose to be a citizen of what I consider to be the (formerly) greatest nation on the planet.
When this nation has returned to it's roots of Individual Liberty, it will again reassume it's role as the nation which God, the Father of All Creation set aside.
