Some folks might prefer the gentle pace of riding a horse on the 'drive', others - mostly the younger set I imagine, might prefer "riding drag" on a motocross bike.

W continues to tout the need for a secure border within a comprhensive immigration bill, and refuses to simply go for the Secure Border . Insisting on provisions to maintan the flow of illegal cheap labor and all of the endemic problems associated with the Illegal Alien Invasion in America.

Higher crime rates, higher medical costs for those who work in uninsured jobs, higher education costs for those who don't speak the language, higher costs for all of the social services these ragtag scrufty welfare bums soak up.

This "cheap labor" ain't so cheap after the full burden on the taxpaying public is factored in.

As a Conservative first and Republican only by inclination to stay away from fringe elements on the Right, I am just disgusted.

The EU MP's obviously have to much time on their hands. They are now pushing for an altered diet for the mass of livestock in the EU. And they want some sort of process to ''capture'' the gas emissions.
Sounds like they could use a dose of reality in their breakfast mush to me.

Lets just posit what it might entail:
First - Change the diet. Well, okay cows have been eating grass for a few hundred thousand years, and now they also get some grains in their diet. Perhaps the bovines would do better on a strict diet of tofu and and completely removing all of the extra grains they get.

On the other hand it's all the extra grain which makes a cow grow the meat every meat eater likes to chew on.
So if the extra grain is taken away, we get the four hundred fifteen pound three year old steer , which is ALL lean meat. Tough and stringy and malnourished, but all lean meat. (instead of eleven hundred pounds of finely marbled tender morsels ready for the BBQ)

Then the issue of gas capture, on the 'face' of it, it seems a really ridiculous statement. Either the cows must be housed indoors 100% of the time to allow for the capture within an enclosed area or the poor critters have to walk around with some sort of plumbing attached to their buttocks.

I presume the latter would require some sort of industrial strength bypass valve for all of the various solids and fluids to ''pass by''. Allowing for the capture of only the offending gas products. Seems like another entirely new industry might be born from the need for high strength Bovine Flatulence Plumbing Manufacturers (and installers - another great Union Job)

Recycling all of the manure would be no big deal, unless the EU is just dumping it in the ocean right now. The excreta in this country (the U.S.) is ''recycled" pretty much one hundred percent from the feedlots. The only portion "wasted" is when a cow is out walking around in a pasture or free ranging. But even that can't be said to be wasted. It does indeed return to the earth and provides nourishment for the plants. (which by the way are net users of carbon dioxide- a green solution with no moving parts needed)

I would like to expound on the process of gas capture for the ''critters'' in Washington DC, but modesty and good taste forbid.

The  PETA Freaks are at it again. The members of the Human Garbage Society want the Associated Press to refer to animals, Fido, Fluffy, and Thumper as people. Using the terms he or she as appropriate.

That though doesn't take into account the various animaloids who can switch back and forth at need from male to female or male to female.

The other thought it brings to mind is - What about those animals, whether Fido a largish Mastiff or Buster a Heinz 57 Mutt on the street (animal homelessness?) sees itself as a diminuitive female poodle?

Does the concept of identifying each of these critters by an arbitrarily chosen designation seem fair? I think not!

My solution, as all of the great solutions, is simple.

As reported by most of the news services, Randall Tobias,  Director of U.S. Foreign Assistance and U.S. Agency for International Development Administration has stepped down.

He stepped down because he had made use of an "Escort Service' by the DC Madam. For a conservative Republican to behave in such a fashion is really unthinkable I suppose.

I have no doubt he can find something else to occupy his time profitably and in gainful employment. But in the meantime the correlation can be made that the character Mr. Tobias showed is ALL to rare in DC. I won't rehash the issues of Bubba, he was like the posterchild for self aborbed hedonism.

But then there are always the Two "Ministers" of Truth and Justice, Sharpton and Jackson, they don't seem to have led the live of the choirboys they impute themselves to be, nor do they seem to mind exhorting the people still willing to listen to them to be as good as they apparently are unable to be.

Well its going to be EarthDay again, and I am just tickled spitless. EarthDay is one of my favorite useless holidays of the year. Without the need for or the formality of having any particular agenda except another round of  RoadKill Recipes.

It makes me wish for an Endless Summer of Roadkill, sort of like the movie "The Endless Summer" except without all the surfing and the beaches and the ocean. Just a lot of RoadKill and my BBQ.

This year I'm going to do something nice for Old Al Gore. It seems he's having trouble with the conclusions being drawn from his movie "An Inconveinient Lie". Apparently he forgot to factor in all the cold weather when he started blathering about Global Warming.

But... not to fear. I am willing to do my part, On Sunday I'll be getting up at the crack of dawn and firing up the BBQ, I've already got two twenty gallon tanks of propane hooked up to it, so it can run all day for EarthDay.
No, I won't be cooking anything on it until that night,. but AlGore needs some help and I'm just that kind of a guy, always willing to lend a hand - or a BBQ in this case.

I do have some good recipes lined up for Sunday evening, it just depends on what I can find in the afternoon, I'll be driving the back roads to find what I can find, but I'm especially hopeful for a good looking fox or two.
Have to be careful with fox' though, they are so skinny it's easy to get reciprocals in them after more than one hit. (for a definition of reciprocals go here) p.s. they also have some good pictures there.

After an appetizer of an unassuming rabbit foie gras coupled with a lightly chilled pomegranate juice, a moderately burned set of Raccoon Kabobs also goes down real easy. And it's also a very EarthDay friendly choice, no need for feedlots to raise it, no long transportation lines from feedlot to butcher to market,  no intermediary refrigerated storage, and those pesky little raccoons always keep their little hands clean so just a drive by shopping trip and it's TIME TO BBQ!

After dinner in keeping with the spirit of the EarthDay Celebration, I'll go ahead and set up some of my old Orchard Smudgepots for ambieance and wind up another perfect EarthDay. Life is very, very good.

I have come to think of the current crop of political critters as having been politically neutered.

They did for the most part go to Washington with high hopes and grand dreams of making the world a better place. Or at least to be able to shape their own little corner into a semblance of Order In The Midst of Chaos.

But along the way to accomplishing those dreams and desires they lost the ability to act like Men and Women of Honor. Without that ability to be the Men and Women of Honor we elected them to be, they are just another ragtag group of self-absorbed, self serving crooks.
The only difference between a regular crook and a CONgress crook is the ability of the CONgress crook to write the laws they don't have to adhere to.

If no one has noticed, the CONgress has become the New American Aristocracy. (NAA)
 They have their own Health Plan, their own Retirement Plan (not Social Security), they have their own Bank, their own Post Office and last but not least - the Commoners are no longer allowed to mingle with the NAA.
 (For the safety and security of the Country !)

When the time finally comes, and it will, for the New American Aristocracy to be dissolved of it's aristocratic ways, the American people will find a renewed hope in the ability of this Country to lead the world in whatever endeavor we choose to take up.
Whether that is to feed a starving world, seek out  "places where no man has gone before", or ....

OK, the World Trade Org. is being ignored. Sounds ok to me, I tend to ignore them pretty much every day of my life and I'm good with that.

Then in reading the article I find the Ag Chief is suggesting that to ignore the WTO is to allow the WTO to "We're either going to write our policies in the U.S. with this in mind, or we're going to let the WTO do that" by striking out portions of U.S. farm policy it does not approve, he said.

If that isn't Orwellian doublespeak, we are all in deep trouble.

Then I had a thought, lets ignore the WTO completely, if they want corn next year for the Starving Pygmies in Africa, let them go somewhere else, we in the United States can turn our corn into ethanol, and use it to run our SUV's.
The starving Pygmies in Africa can go to the WTO and ask for Egyptian wheat, Chinese rice, or just eat the bugs that live in Africa.

But as for letting the WTO strike out portions of the US Farm bill they don't agree with? I don't think so. Let them eat bugs.

The quote from the AP article expresses the same sort of dissatisfaction with GW Bush as Nancy has put out, and with the same apparent level of vitriol.

The reality though is that I think I would willingly accept Ms. Royal into this country in trade for Nanny Nancy. Ms Royal is at least honest about her political background and her agenda. Ms Royal is not the Socialist in drag which Ms Nanny Nancy Pelosi presents herself as. Ms Nanny who is ever posturing herself as the Epitome of Americanism, seeking only a better life for the downtrodden masses. Although when it comes to the farmworkers who work on and in her families vineyards, the rule of law erodes. NO Unions Allowed!

An honest enemy is someone I can deal with, we may have disagreements, but they can be worked out or we go to war. But how do we go to war against the House of Representatives when they turn Socialist or Muslim?
